File Uploads & Storage
CoreXUpload Print gives customers a straightforward way to upload artwork, receive file guidance before ordering, and keep the correct files connected to each order.
Supported file formats
Customers can upload these production-friendly image formats directly:
| Format | Availability |
|---|---|
| JPEG | Direct upload |
| PNG | Direct upload |
| TIFF | Direct upload |
HEIC photos from Apple devices
Customers using Safari can also select HEIC photos from supported Apple devices. Safari may convert the photo into a compatible image format during upload.
For the most consistent experience across browsers and devices, JPEG, PNG and TIFF are the recommended upload formats.
Direct customer upload
Customers upload artwork directly from their device using the file picker or drag-and-drop area on the product page.
This keeps the artwork inside the store’s ordering experience and connects the selected file with the customer’s print configuration.
File checks before ordering
CoreXUpload Print evaluates the artwork and selected print configuration before the item reaches the cart:
- Resolution — checks whether the image contains enough detail for the selected print size
- Print size — compares the artwork with the available product dimensions
- Fit — shows how the artwork fits the printable area, including crop and aspect-ratio considerations
When a file needs attention, the customer receives clear guidance while configuring the order. This helps customers make suitable choices and gives the production team better order information for its final review.
Storage options
Uploaded artwork remains connected to the configured order and line item, helping production staff locate the correct file and specifications for each job.
Businesses can choose to store uploaded files on their own hosting server or use CoreXBiz Cloud when they need support for larger files. Merchant-server storage is limited by the hosting provider’s available storage, upload settings and maximum request size. Many shared hosting plans support uploads in the 50–100 MB range, but the server’s upload speed and other resource limits may make larger files impractical even when the advertised maximum is higher.
Merchant-server storage
Files can be stored on the store’s WordPress and WooCommerce hosting server.
Merchant-server uploads can support files up to 100 MB, depending on the hosting provider, PHP settings, server capacity and configured Upload Print limit.
This option lets businesses use their existing hosting infrastructure for customer artwork.
CoreXBiz Cloud
CoreXBiz Cloud provides managed storage for businesses that need additional capacity for customer artwork and large-format production files.
Standard cloud storage supports files up to 200 MB, with higher-capacity plans available for files up to 2 GB.
When cloud storage is enabled, the uploaded files remain connected to their corresponding commerce order and production job.
