Add a new price calculator
This guide explains how to create a new price calculator in CoreXBiz, configure its pricing logic, and connect it to a WooCommerce product.
It assumes CoreXBiz is already installed, activated, and connected with a valid API key.
Video walkthrough
Before you begin
Before creating a calculator:
- Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active.
- Check that your store uses the correct measurement units for your products.
- In WordPress admin, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Products and confirm the unit settings match your business needs.
- Make sure the products you want to price already exist in WooCommerce.
Open the Price Calculator
- In WordPress admin, go to CoreXBiz.
- Open CoreX Products.
- Select Price Calculator.
Create a new calculator
- Click New Price Calculator.
- Enter a name for the calculator.
- Link the calculator to one or more WooCommerce products.
- Continue to the next step.
Choose how the product is sold
Select the pricing method that matches how the product or service is ordered:
- Sold by Measured Area
- Sold by Linear Length
- Sold by Volume
- Sold by Weight
- Sold by Time Duration
- Sold as Individual Units
This setting controls how the customer quantity or measurement will be entered and how the calculator will build the price.
Choose the measurement unit
After selecting how the product is sold, choose the unit that applies to the product or service.
Examples may include:
- square inches, square feet, square yards
- inches, feet
- litres
- kilograms
- hours
- units
Choose the unit that matches the way you normally quote or sell the work.
Build the pricing logic
Continue to the visual pricing builder.
You can define the pricing structure using cost-based fields such as:
- material
- labour
- equipment
- setup
- finishing
- packaging
- shipping
- overhead
Add the fields that apply to your workflow and enter the values needed for pricing. This lets you build pricing visually instead of managing the logic only in spreadsheets or static tables.
Add advanced pricing options
If needed, extend the calculator with additional pricing controls such as:
- quantity tiers
- restrictions
- client-based pricing
- pricing strategies
These settings support more detailed business rules and more complex pricing conditions.
Generated formula output
The calculator builds the pricing visually first. After you save the calculator, CoreXBiz generates the formula automatically from the pricing structure and rules you created.
That output gives you a more detailed view of how the final pricing logic is calculated.
Use the formula section when you want to review, understand, or validate the generated pricing logic in a more technical format.
Use AI-assisted pricing
CoreXBiz provides two ways to build pricing:
- A visual, manually controlled builder.
- An AI-assisted price calculator engine that works through prompts.
In the visual builder, AI Copilot is available to help with pricing logic, structure, and more advanced rules.
Use the visual builder when you want to shape the calculator step by step and stay close to how the logic is created.
Test the calculator
Before saving the calculator, use the preview and test area to confirm that:
- measurements are read correctly
- pricing values calculate as expected
- linked products are correct
- output price matches your intended result
Review the calculator carefully before activation.
Save and activate the calculator
- Click Save & Activate when the calculator is ready.
- Confirm that the calculator status changes to active.
Link the calculator to a product
After the calculator is saved:
- Go to the WooCommerce product you want to use with the calculator.
- Open the Price Calculator Integration section.
- Select the calculator you created from the dropdown.
- Make sure the Sale price field is empty.
- Save the product.
This keeps calculator pricing in control of the product price.
Enable front-end display
If you want customers to use the calculator on the product page:
- Enable the front-end display option in the product integration settings.
- View the product page on the storefront.
- Test the calculator again as a customer.
Confirm the displayed price is correct and passes into the cart and final order.
What the calculator supports
The same pricing system can support a wide range of business models, including:
- print products
- custom manufactured parts
- installation-based work
- service pricing
- repair work
- fabrication
- salon or appointment-based services
- other workflow-driven products and services
Next step
Once the calculator is active and linked to a product, test the full workflow on the storefront to confirm pricing, product display, and checkout behavior.
