The Accounting Application centralizes financial record-keeping across sales, expenses, assets, and accounting entries. It is intended for business owners and accounting staff who need consistent operational visibility into financial activity.

What This Application Covers

This Application covers the recording, organization, and review of financial transactions and accounting entries across day-to-day business operations. It supports maintaining core accounting structures (such as accounts and ledgers), tracking operational expenses and sales, and producing summaries for review and decision-making.

Main Functional Areas

  • Financial Summary Tab — Provides a high-level summary view of financial activity to support ongoing monitoring and planning. It is designed for quick review rather than detailed entry work. See Financial Summary.

  • Chart of Accounts Tab — Manages the account structure used to categorize and organize accounting activity. It provides the foundation for consistent classification across the Accounting Application. See Chart of Accounts.

  • Journal Entries Tab — Supports creating and reviewing journal entries to reflect accounting adjustments and structured bookkeeping. It is used when transactions require formal accounting entry handling. See Journal Entries.

  • General Ledger Tab — Consolidates accounting entries into a ledger view for review and auditing. It supports understanding how activity maps into formal accounting records over time. See General Ledger.

  • Expenses & Materials Tab — Manages expense tracking and categorization for operational costs, including supporting information linked to expense records. It helps keep spending organized for reporting and review. See Expenses & Materials.

  • Sales List Tab — Centers on sales-related records and their accounting relevance (such as payments and order-level financial context). It supports tying revenue activity to broader accounting review. See Sales List.

  • Sales POS — Creates invoices and direct/in-person sales from the Sales dashboard (New Order). Setup guide: How to add an invoice. See Sales POS.

  • Assets Tab — Tracks business assets and related financial information across their lifecycle. It supports maintaining asset records alongside operational accounting activity. See Assets.

  • Leases Tab — Maintains lease-related records and their accounting context. It supports tracking ongoing lease obligations as part of financial oversight. See Leases.

  • Transactions Tab — Supports reconciling recorded activity against external statements to validate accuracy and identify discrepancies. It is used to confirm completeness and correctness of accounting records. See Transactions.

  • Reports Tab — Produces summarized Outputs for review and decision-making across accounting areas. It supports analyzing performance and financial position using recorded data. See Reports.

Typical Use Scenarios

  • Reviewing revenue and expenses over a period to understand financial performance.
  • Recording journal entries to reflect adjustments or bookkeeping corrections.
  • Reconciling recorded transactions with external statements to confirm accuracy.
  • Maintaining asset and lease records to support budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Generating reports to share summaries with stakeholders or support internal review.

Notes and Limitations

  • The quality and usefulness of Outputs depend on consistent categorization and timely record updates across Tabs.
  • Some accounting activities require appropriate accounting knowledge and internal policies to ensure records are maintained correctly.
  • The Accounting Application supports operational record-keeping and review; external compliance and filing processes may require additional steps outside the Application.
